This view is on the shallow and calm Atlantic shore. Crystal clear water and subtropical temperatures have enticed many to this region including the former railroad magnate Henry M. Flagler who is credited for promoting and building the the first railway access along the entire east coast of Florida down to it's southern most point Key West or mile marker zero. Completing his vision in 1912. Then retired from Standard Oil and with his well endowed partners, the likes of John D.
